The Environment
Glenisk is committed to a healthy sustainable future.

We have a vision of an organic Ireland.
- It all starts with clean soil and happy cows. No artificial chemicals, pesticides, fertilisers, hormones or genetically modified nonsense.
- We aim to increase the land farmed in Ireland organically by creating a larger demand and paying a fair and sustainable pay price, supporting and encouraging farmers to convert to organic agriculture. Farm by farm, we will lower the overall environmental impact of the food industry.
- Organic farming produces fewer greenhouse gases than intensive methods, but we don’t stop there.
- We pledge to measure our own carbon footprint, report it, and reduce it.
- We are hard at work researching the perfect GM-free, compostable pots. We'll let you know how it progresses.
- We buy all our power from green supplier, Airtricity.
- All our trucks are being converted to plant oil biodiesel.
- We are engaged in fiendishly complicated calculations with a view to installing wind turbines to power our plant and our local community.
- We use waste water efficiencies through our reed beds.
- We use our packaging as mini billboards to educate our consumers about environmental issues and get them involved through our partners.
- We re-use and recycle everything we can, to avoid waste and conserve precious natural resources.
- We are always learning about better ways to ‘green’ our supply chain, cradle to grave. After all, healthy food can only come from a healthy planet.
