The new baby conversation
Up to Mama iMoo's Blog
I've been having the pointless new baby conversation with my toddler, saying stupid, leading things like "guess what's in mammy's tummy?" And fella just looks at me blankly, probably wondering why his aul' wan is drawing attention to her stomach. (It has seen better days).
So I asked him last week, "will we get a new baby?". "No", he said and looked me straight in the eye. "A new mammy."
Ingrate.
Aaaaahhhhh, NOW I understand!
Congratulations!!
When are you due? How have you refrained from complaining about your husband thus far? Impressive!
You knwo what you said about other blogs intimidating you? Well, I meant to say, that's exactly how I felt when I read yours
Thanks Jo. Not due until January so plenty of time yet to shame my husband on-line. I'm building up a file of incidents. Reminds me of the time when I was two days overdue on fella and the remote control disappeared under the sofa. "You hold up the sofa", said husband, "and I'll have a look underneath and see if I can get it." His empathy was overwhelming.
You're far too kind about the blog. Speaking of which, I must put up a link to your very funny, clever, insightful and brave blog: www.infantasia.blogspot.com. Everyone should read this!
