Psychotic Toddler

Posted by mamaimoo at May 21. 2008

Isn't the definition of psychosis having no conscience or remorse or some such thing? Very concerned about fella. He bit a little girl again in the creche. I asked him later if it was true - "did you bite Katie?" "Yes!" he said and smiled beatifically. What do do? What to do? And when he acts up at home and I make idle threats like "do you want to be put in your cot?", he says "yes." Or if I ask him "are you going to hit mama again?", he says "Yes!"

Clearly I am raising a truthful, honest child. 'Tis pity he's also psychotic and violent.

Don't make idle threats.

I think the psychotic thing is just a stage.

It's tough to have a biter though.

You might need to channel your inner Supernanny a bit. Level authorititive voice, follow through sensible threats - and don't put ideas in his head!
