The Sixty Second Interview with David Coleman
Seven questions for David Coleman, iMoo psychologist
1. How do you manage to juggle life as a father of three with a successful practice and find time to write a book and participate in TV shows like Families in Trouble and your latest series?
I’m not sure I do juggle it all! In fact I’m pretty sure I let the ball drop regularly. I have great support at home and that helps but, paradoxically, I probably spend less time with my own family now than I used to because I am away so much more
2. How important is organic food for you and your family?
We try our best to buy and eat organic as we believe it is better for us and for environmental sustainability. We are lucky to have a great farmers market every Sunday in Killaloe, Co Clare so that we can get to to buy direct from the producers. But we are not so hung up on it. If organic isn’t available, we’ll buy whatever is handy
3. If you weren’t a clinical psychologist, what would you be?
A lifeguard (on a warm beach, with lots of surf)
4. What’s your best parenting tip?
Catch your children being good regularly and often and let them know it. Read David's ten tips for family harmony.
5. What would surprise people about you?
I’m not as calm in real life as I appear on the telly![]()
6. What makes you laugh?
Anything funny...
7. What’s the secret to happiness?
Good company.
