Glenisk is the overall winner of the SFA National Business Award 2010. Winning the Food & Drinks category, Glenisk also beat off competition from 35 other finalists to take the top prize. The award was presented to finance director, Gerard Cleary by An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, TD, on Thursday, 4 March. Chairman of the SFA, Dr Aidan O'Boyle, described Glenisk as "a fine example of an Irish family owned company, with a commitment to organic farming, that has managed through innovation and product development to grow their business even in the darkest recession. Glenisk are a true an inspiration to other small businesses.” Watch an interview with Gerard Cleary here.

Glenisk has received the Environmental Enrichement award at the 2009 Food and Drink Industry awards. The award was presented by the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Mr Brendan Smith T.D. at a lunchtime ceremony during Bord Bia's 9th annual Food & Drink Industry Day.
The judges commented "Glenisk's commitment to sustainability is truly outstanding. Passionate about fair trade and ensuring that their production is sustainable, this family owned business has excelled in producing a high quality and desirable product while minimising their manufacturing imprint."
Glenisk has won Best Retail Product at the 2009 National Organic Awards. The awards were presented at an event in Bord Bia, Dublin on 14 September, to mark the beginning of Ireland's National Organic Week. The winning product was our Greek Style Natural Yogurt, launched at the end of 2008 - this product, which is also available in blueberry flavour, is Glenisk's creamiest most indulgent yogurt yet. MD Vincent Cleary accepted the award from Trevor Sargent, T.D., Minister for Food & Horticulture at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food.
National Organic Award 2008 Winner .... Repak Award for Outstanding Practice 2008 ... Green 'Product of the Year' at the Green Awards 2008.... Offaly Business Person of the Year 2008 ...
We hate to brag and all that but 2008 was yet another bumper awards season for Glenisk! In September, we received the prestigious National Organic Award, presented by Minister Trevor Sargent, T.D. for our delicious organic butter. As well as winning our category as Best Chilled Product, we walked away with the overall award, thanks to the judges who couldn't resist the smooth, creamy taste and texture. Our butter will come from summer-grazed, organic Irish cows and since this project is an ongoing labour of love, we're delighted to receive this award so soon.
Barely a month had passed before the lovely people at Repak shared the news that we had picked up the gong for Outstanding Practice for all our recycling efforts. We're chuffed that our commitment to recycling and reducing waste has been recognised in this way. Pictured right are Mark Cleary, Evelyn Cleary and Gerard Cleary receiving the award from Minister for the Environment, John Gormley, T.D. And less than a week later, our MD Vincent Cleary was named Offaly Business Person of the Year 2008 by the Tullamore Chamber of Commerce, making it a hat trick!
Most recently, we picked up the award for 'Green Product of the Year' at the 2008 Green Awards. According to the judges, a key criteria for winning is providing an eco-friendly product that helps to create a more sustainable future. Of course we're very aware that if it wasn't for our dedicated and loyal customers, we wouldn't be making products at all, so thank you all for your support, this year and every year!
Well far be it from us to shout about our accolades, but between one awards ceremony and another, we were up and down the red carpet so frequently in 2007 that it nearly went to our heads. In November 2007, we received the Making a Difference Award at the Bord Bia Food & Drink Industry in November in Dublin's Mansion House. The award was presented by Mary Coughlan, T.D., Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food at a cermony in Dublin's Mansion House. Known as the 'Irish Food Oscars', Bord Bia invited entries for the award from companies who “offer a strong environmental story which captures the growing consumer demand for responsible manufacturing or growing” or who “provide a solution to consumers searching for goods that reduce the impact of consumption on planet Earth.”
Only weeks earlier, finance director Gerard Cleary was shortlisted for the 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for his work at Glenisk. Gerard made his TV debut on RTE 1's series about the awards.
And while the champagne corks were still popping, we learned that our website had received the prestigious design award in the United States.
In the same month, our managing director Vincent Cleary was invited to join the organic steering committee by Trevor Sargent, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food with a view to promoting organic food in Ireland.
Glenisk is no stranger to awards and over the years, we have won our fair share including the Ulster Bank / Irish Independent Business Achievers Award 2006 and the National Newpapers of Ireland/ Bord Bia Press Build Brand Award in 2005.
