Glenisk was at Bloom 2010 in Dublin's Phoenix Park during the June bank holiday weekend. We were delighted to participate in this festival of food and horticulture, where the theme once again centred around celebrating garden life. Bloom was a wonderful opportunity to meet with our friends and customers and to sample our organic yogurt. We met lots of interesting people over the weekend, including some well-known faces like Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister for Agriculture and Ciaran Cuffe, T.D., Minister for Sustainability.
How to Plant a SeedGlenisk sponsored Shawna Coronado, a green living expert and garden designer, who was a keynote speaker at the event. Shawna shared her experiences of transforming her own health and building community in her native Chicago through focusing on gardening and sustainability. Over the Bloom weekend, we also handed out free organic vegetable seeds to help people create their own organic gardens at home. So for anyone who picked up the free seeds and hasn't got around to planting them yet, or for anyone interested in growing advice, this video made by Shawna for Glenisk gives some handy tips:
During Shawna's visit to Dublin, we also stopped by Áras an Uachtaráin, where the presidential gardens are going organic! To find out more about the visit and view Shawna's video, click here.
