Glenisk Tune Challenge

Thanks from Glenisk

Glenisk Tune ChallengeNow that we are getting ready to announce the shortlist for the Glenisk Tune Challenge, I want to take the opportunity to thank each of you for entering the competition.

The judging has been a long and challenging process, but equally a very enjoyable and entertaining one. We have been amazed, not just by the volume of entries, but also by the quality. Despite the prevailing doom and gloom, it’s clear that with talent like this Ireland, we have great reason to be hopeful for the future.

When we embarked upon this competition, we were determined to keep an open mind about the track that would best suit the Glenisk ad and I believe the shortlist reflects this aim. With the ad visuals already in place, it was obvious that not all music would fit the bill; countless tracks appealed to us and even though we had to decide ultimately that many of them would not suit the ad, nonetheless they resonated with us and we will be first in the queue to buy those albums when they are released.

We were also surprised by the number of you who composed music specifically for the competition and for that dedication, we are extremely grateful. We appreciated the many detailed (and often hilarious) submissions with references to organics and organic yogurt, although sadly we couldn’t allocate any extra points for this!

At Glenisk, we don’t profess to be experts in music, busy as we are with the pursuit of Glenisk TV Admaking yogurt. But one thing we have learned over almost 25 years in business is that passion counts. Our vision was (and remains) to make good food, organically. Naturally, we encountered many challenges along the way. Whether you have been involved with music for many years or are just starting out with that career in mind, I wish you every success in overcoming the challenges ahead and realising your vision.  The best advice I can give you is the advice that has served us well over the years – do what you love to do and stay passionate about doing it well.
