Ingredients:
500g Low Fat Glenisk Organic Natural Yogurt 250g pitted dates ½ tsp vanilla extract 2 cups of ice cubes 2 tbsp of jumbo oatflakes
Method:
Dry fry the jumbo oat flakes on a non stick frying pan for 5 minutes until golden. Keep shaking to make sure flakes get evenly toasted and don't burn. Leave aside to cool. Alternatively the jumbo oat flakes can be dry roasted on a baking tray in an oven at 180°C for 20 minutes. Leave aside to cool. Purée the yogurt, dates and vanilla in a blender until smooth. Then add the ice cubes to the blender and purée until mixture is thick and smooth. Divide mixture between 2 tall glasses and sprinkle with the toasted oatflakes. Additional oatflakes can be added to the body of the smoothie to make it really nutritious. Serve immediately.
