Wholegrain Waffles
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup whole-wheat or brown flour
- 2/3 cup brown-rice flour
- 2/3 cup soy flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons wheat germ
- 1 cup Glenisk whole or low fat milk
- 1 cup Glenisk Natural yogurt
- 3 tablespoons melted butter, cooled
- 3 eggs, separated
Preparation
- Whisk together the three flours, baking soda, baking powder, salt and wheat germ in a large bowl. In a smaller bowl, mix together the milk, yogurt, cooled butter and egg yolks. Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until everything is thoroughly blended.
In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold the egg whites into the batter, mixing just until blended.
- Cook on a hot, oiled waffle pan following the manufacturer's instructions.
